1.Overview
At Mahl, we want you to be happy with your subscription. This Refund Policy explains when and how you can obtain a refund for Mahl Pro subscriptions. This policy is designed to comply with the Australian Consumer Law and to be fair to all users.
2.Web Subscriptions via Paddle
14-day money-back guarantee
If you cancel during your 7-day free trial, you are not charged and no refund is needed. If you are not satisfied with your Mahl Pro subscription for any reason, you may request a full refund within 14 days of your initial purchase or your first charge after a free trial. To request a refund, email us at hello@mahl.app with the subject line 'Refund Request' and include your account email address. We will process your refund within 5–10 business days.
Renewals
For subscription renewals (monthly or annual), refunds are not automatically provided for the renewal period if you simply forget to cancel. However we will consider refund requests for renewals made in good faith where:
- You contact us within 14 days of the renewal charge
- You have not made significant use of the Service since the renewal
We assess these on a case-by-case basis and aim to be reasonable. Email hello@mahl.app to discuss.
Annual subscriptions — early cancellation
If you cancel an annual subscription and have more than 6 months remaining, you may request a pro-rata refund for the unused portion. We will calculate the refund based on the number of full months remaining. Email hello@mahl.app to request this.
3.iOS App Store Subscriptions
Subscriptions purchased through the Apple App Store are subject to Apple's refund policy, not ours. We have no ability to issue refunds for App Store purchases. To request a refund for an App Store purchase:
- Go to reportaproblem.apple.com
- Sign in with your Apple ID
- Find the Mahl purchase and select 'Request a Refund'
- Follow Apple's instructions to complete the request
Apple's decision on App Store refunds is final. If Apple grants a refund, your Mahl Pro access will be revoked at the time of the refund.
4.Australian Consumer Law
Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law are not limited or excluded by this policy. If the Service has a major failure — for example it is fundamentally not as described, or there is a significant problem we cannot fix in a reasonable time — you have the right to cancel your subscription and receive a refund for the unused portion. You also have the right to compensation for any reasonably foreseeable loss or damage resulting from such a failure.
Minor issues that we can fix within a reasonable timeframe may not entitle you to a refund, but we will work to resolve any problems promptly.
5.What Is Not Refundable
- The free tier of Mahl has no charges and therefore no refunds apply
- Refunds are not provided where your account has been suspended or terminated for breach of our Terms of Service
- Lifetime deal purchases are non-refundable after 14 days, unless required by law
- We do not refund charges that result from your failure to cancel before a renewal date, except in the circumstances described in Section 2
6.How to Request a Refund
Email hello@mahl.app with:
- Subject line: Refund Request
- Your account email address
- The date of purchase or charge you are requesting a refund for
- The reason for your request
We aim to respond to all refund requests within 2 business days and to process approved refunds within 5–10 business days. Refunds are returned to the original payment method.
7.Changes to This Policy
We reserve the right to update this Refund Policy. Changes will be posted at mahl.app and will apply to purchases made after the date of the change. Your statutory rights under Australian Consumer Law are not affected by any change to this policy.
